How APCs are applied
Article processing charges are configured at the journal level and become payable only for journals that require APC settlement. Authors should review journal-specific amounts, currency, and notes before submission so institutional or funder approval can be arranged early. Accepted manuscripts move into the APC workflow once editorial acceptance is recorded.
Payment workflow
The platform supports APC requests, payment status tracking, PayPal checkout, and success or failure notifications to both authors and administrators. Payment references should remain linked to the manuscript record for audit and support purposes. Where alternative billing arrangements are approved, admins can manage the workflow accordingly.
Waivers and institutional support
Where journals offer discounts, waivers, or institutional coverage, authors should contact the publishing office before payment if they require confirmation. Pricing transparency should be matched by transparent support criteria. Admins may document journal-specific APC notes for public display.
