Journals may publish under standard open-access licenses or more restrictive reuse terms depending on policy. The selected license should be reflected clearly on the article page, in metadata exports, and in publication records. Authors should ensure third-party material included in the manuscript is compatible with the intended license.
Reuse and attribution
Open-access licensing typically requires attribution and may place conditions on commercial reuse or derivative works depending on the chosen license. Readers and downstream platforms depend on accurate rights metadata when ingesting article records. Rights statements should therefore be consistent across PDF, XML, landing pages, and OAI outputs.
Operational handling
Production and metadata teams should make sure the rights statement shown on the front end matches the journal configuration and final publication decision. Inconsistent license labeling can create legal and indexing confusion. Admins should review public license text whenever journal policies change.
